About Surat Thani

Surat Thani is the largest southern province of Thailand, located on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand, and is a gateway to the islands of Thailand's eastern coast: Ko Samui, Ko Tao (great for scuba diving), and Ko Phangan, and also to the natural beauty of several National Parks, such as Khao Sok and Mu Ko Ang Thong. Surat Thani is also famous for coconuts, mainly picked by pig-tailed monkeys, which are trained in special schools around the province.
