Biography
Professor Noel Scott has worked in research and management positions in a variety of major companies, such as Tourism and Events Queensland. He has four higher education degrees and completed his doctorate at the University of Queensland in 2004. He has extensive international tourism experience as a trainer, consultant, guest speaker, advisor and mentor.
Noel has numerous funded projects, grants and consultancies. He has published around 200 scholarly publications, consisting of 11 books, 10 published reports, 5 special issues as guest editor, 50 refereed journal articles (10 of these in A* journals), 54 book chapters, 34 refereed conference papers and 50 conference working papers.
Noel teaches a variety of tourism management courses and has supervised 18 PhDs, with 13 of these students completed. He is on the editorial boards of three journals: Service Industries Journal, Current Issues in Tourism, and Revista Academica do Observatorio de Inocacao do Turismo (Brasil).

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR DR.BASRI BIN RASHID (basri@uum.edu.my)
is the Dean of the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Environmental Managemnet Universiti Utara Malaysia. His Bachelor of Art (Hons) in Hospitality Management is from Thames Valley University, London. He obtained his MBA from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The Ph.D was awarded by The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He taught graduate and undergraduate courses on Tourism and Hospitality. Among others, he conducted courses on Contemporary Issues in Tourism and Hospitality, Hospitality Seminar, Food and Beverage Cost Control, Restaurant Management, Research Methods for Tourism and Hospitality and Hospitality Strategic Management. His research interest are on the areas of Hospitality Services, Service Evaluation, Destination Management and Hospitality Training. He is currently supervising a number of PhD students. Besides presented numerous papers at international conference he also contributed articles in journals and chapters in tourism and hospitality book of reading.
